FAQ's

 

  1. How far is the Autism Speaks 8k Race?  The race is a one loop course totally 8K or  ~ almost 5 miles in length

  2. When and  where is packet pickup?  Packet pickup locations have not yet been determined.  We will email you the information as it becomes available.

  3. Can I bring pets to the race?  Yes, pets are allowed.  However, we do ask that you please be responsible for picking up after your pet.

  4. What time does the race start?   The 1K race is scheduled to start at 8:30 AM with the 8K race start starting afterwards at 9:30. 

  5. What do I need to bring to the race?  You may bring any food or drinks that you would like. Food trucks will also be available.  We will offer water and post-race nutrition for all runners.

  6. What time should I show up to the race?  We recommend that racers show up an hour before the race starts.

  7. How do I volunteer? Can I run and volunteer?  We LOVE volunteers. Please contact our office at 469-213-7173 or email us at dfw@autismspeaks.org.  

  8. Where can I park on race morning?  Because this venue is a drive-in movie theater, there is plenty of free parking available.

  9. Can I bring a stroller for my children?  Yes. But the route is not stroller friendly because there will be gravel and grass.

  10. How close are the start line and finish lines?  Both the races will have the same start locations.  The finish line for the 8K Race is the same as the start.  The 1K runners will have a different finish line which is simply on the other side of the fence.

  11. Is this a certified course? Who does the timing?  The 8K race is not a professionally certified course. Timing is provided by Do More Racing Services and the timing chip is embedded in the Race Bib. The  1K is not a timed course. Results will be posted after the Race and a link will be provided here as well.

  12. Can I run with my child in the 1K?  Absolutely! We welcome you to run with your child or provide any other support needed for children with special needs

  13. Can I sign up to walk the 1K?  Registration for the 1K is only available for the kids, but, again, we do encourage the adults to support their kids on the route.  This registration type will only get kids size shirts. 

  14. How many runners do you expect?  We expect approximately 300+ participants in the 2016 race. We expect 50- 100 runners for the 1K.
